After-LIFE conservation plan for Tyruliai bog has been prepared
Following provisions of the EC LIFE Programme financing rules, at the end of every project an After-LIFE conservation plan shall be developed. However, it must be admitted that’s not only a must – the EC seeks to ensure continuation of the actions as well as durability of the outputs. The Lithuanian Ornithological Society has prepared such document in the frame of the project "Demonstrative restoration of the Tyruliai bog as a part of the initiative of the re-wetting of Lithuanian peatlands" (LIFE12 NAT/LT/001186). The document, which provides the main outlines of the conservation priorities in the Tyruliai bog SPA for the upcoming years, can be found HERE
EUROPEAN COMMISSION ASSESSED PPOGRESS OF MANAGEMENT WORKS IN TYRULIAI BOG
Representatives of the European Commission (EC) Mr. Laszlo Becsy, responsible for the monitoring of the project Demonstrative restoration of the Tyruliai bog as a part of the initiative of the re-wetting of Lithuanian peatlands (LIFE12 NAT/LT/001186) and LIFE+ Environment Programme financial manager Ms. Anna McClintock , visited Lithuania on April 26-27, 2017.
The second project steering committee meeting
The second project steering committee meeting was organized in Jonaitiskiai Village, Radviliskis district, on 1 June 2015. At this meeting, the project team presented the results of the project and discussed the problems, possible changes of the activities. Project was prolonged until the end of November
The European Commission has accepted request of the Lithuanian Ornithological Society and has extended the project "Demonstrative restoration of the Tyruliai bog as a part of the initiative of the re-wetting of Lithuanian peatlands" (LIFE12 NAT/LT/001186) implementation by three months. The end of the project – 30th November, 2017.
Final Project Monitoring Committee took place
The final Project Monitoring Committee took place on November 29, 2017. The project implementers presented to the Committee members final achievements of the project. All activities have been implemented and the results were highlighted in the presentations according to the field of activities.
